Kambuzuma 1 High School is an accommodating school that fulfills all your wishes and needs. It is a Government school, catering for approximately 905 boys and girls aged 12 to 18 years in forms 1 to 6, who are day-scholars.
The school was founded in 1979 and started off as Saint Peter's School. The first ever headmaster was Mr. Gororo. In 1980, there were only eight classes in use. The car park was initially used for assembly and contained the school's Basketball courts. The schooling system used two streams: F1 and F2, whereby F1 students did four years of secondary education and F2 students did five years of secondary education. F2 students did vocational subjects such as metal work, woodwork, fashion and fabrics and food and nutrition. These students would then venture into the industry after passing their examinations or partake in apprenticeship. The school was renowned for its excellence in sporting competitions.
